Visions in the Wilderness

This was the fourth song I produced on the album. It is split into three parts.

Part 1: The Plight of the Farmer (0:01-2:28)

"The Farmer lives the life of a poor man, but he is content. He has no ambition and does not expect to be elevated. He is an experienced man; not quite old, but not quite young, and a hard worker."

Part 2: Entering the Village Temple (2:28-3:46)

"Every day the Farmer enters the temple to pray. This day is no different. His consistency will be rewarded..."

Part 3: The Vision (3:46-end)

"The Lord of Hosts speaks to mortal man. His words shake the fabric of space and time, as they always do. The Farmer has been chosen. He will ascend to the throne of Eremus, placed there by God Himself, for the mind of God is too wonderful to comprehend. He takes the weakest of men and elevates him above all others..."

This is the first time the theme for God is heard (it is featured in part 2). It is only hinted at here. It is revealed in fullness in track 10, the Depths. The theme in part 3 is the theme for the vision, which is equivalent to the theme for the Farmer. He is irrelevant without the vision, so he has no theme apart from it. It is slow and tentative here to show that he has not fully accepted it yet.
